Course Description:
OSHA requires employers to select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employee’s hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances, severe cuts or lacerations, severe abrasions, punctures, chemical burns, and harmful temperature extremes. This applies equally to the arms. Over 100,000 lost time of hand and arm injuries occur every year in the workplace. Hand and arm injuries can be prevented if the hazards are recognized and with the proper selection and use of hand and arm protection.
Learning Objectives:
At the close of the course, you will be able to:
- Learn potential foot, hand and arm hazards present in the stone industry
- Review the appropriate hand and arm PPE for specific hazards
- Review employers policies for hand and arm PPE on the job site
